Admissions PolicyCommunity Christian School admits students of any race,color, nationality or ethnic origin. All students are entitled to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded to or made available. Students may not be admitted due to the lack of available space, a poor scholastic or disciplinary record, or a perceived attitude problem. At least one parent must be a born-again Christian in regular attendance at a local church. CCS reserves the right to refuse admission based on past failures to meet financial commitments. The age of admission to Kindergarten and the First Grade will be in accordance with the following regulations: Kindergarten - 5 years old on or before September 1st First Grade - 6 years old on or before September 1st, if the child has completed Kindergarten The general priority system for admission is:
The admissions priority for students is effective from February 1st through February 28th, after which everyone is considered on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration forms may be picked up in the school office or you can Download Registration Form. The forms should be completed by the parent or guardian and returned to the office with a non-refundable registration fee for each student. The school office must have accurate and up-to-date telephone numbers at all times. If your phone number changes for any reason, let us know immediately. Assessment ProceduresK5 Through Sixth Grade: If a students academic performance is questionable, the prospective teacher is asked to further evaluate the student. Based on the results of these evaluations, admission acceptance and placement is determined. Seventh Through Twelfth Grade: Based on the overall evaluation, students initially accepted will be placed on probation. The Probation Phase is a four-five week acceptance phase for all new Jr/Sr High students. Parental support is crucial. There are three separate appointments set for the parents and teachers to communicate: First meeting - the initial appointment is to explain to the parents and student the purpose and scope of the probation. This may be accomplished during orientation. Second contact - Parent will be notified by letter and/or phone call of student’Äôs progress. Third meeting - at the end of the probation period. This is a final assessment. During the Probation Phase, students will be evaluated on the following objectives:
The Final Acceptance Phase incorporates two steps. The first step is orchestrated by the Jr/Sr Coordinator and involves teacher and peer assessments of the above objectives. The second step involves the Coordinator reviewing the results and discussing them with the Principal for each students final review. When this process is complete, parents will be notified by the Coordinator of the student’Äôs final status. In addition, the following items must be completed and turned into the office before a student is permitted to attend classes:
