Greetings from an old country boy, born and raised in the Missouri Ozarks. My wife, Ellen, and I were transplanted to Florida a little over two years ago so we could help care for Ellen’s elderly parents. I consider it a wonderful blessing that CCS is nearby, and that I am given the opportunity to continue teaching and training young lives in a Christian school.
I graduated from the University of Missouri in 1970 with a BS degree in Agricultural Economics, served in the Army in Viet Nam, and then worked as a farm real-estate loan manager. In 1978, the Lord called me into ministry full time. My ministry responsibilities in the church where we served included teaching in the church’s Christian school. In addition to teaching, I was the school principal from 1985 until moving to Florida in 2007.
I am blessed to have been raised in a Christian home where Biblical principles were applied to daily living. The Lord has been good to me providing many opportunities of service since I accepted Christ as my Savior at the age of nine. As Paul writes in I Timothy 1:12, "I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service."
I say a big "Thank you" as well to the CCS leadership and parents who continue allowing me to serve in helping train the students who attend here. I like to think it helps keep me thinking young and hopefully the students thinking more maturely. The Lord be praised!
