Fundraising Progress

From the school board...Eagles Nest fundraiser progress to date;

The "Eagles Nest Community Center" plans were first introduced to our CCS families and friends at the close of the 2008-2009 school year while we celebrated 25 years of Christian school ministry.  This was the first time our design team had completed enough of the conceptual work that we felt ready to present our vision of what God has challenged the school and the surrounding community to provide to our communities’ children.  God has been faithful to protect this tiny school  over the years since its founding in 1984, and we thought it fitting to share what God has shown us as the future of Community Christian School at this time.  

At this celebration, and again during this year's orientation day, we outlined how the Christian community and specifically our CCS community, could get involved in order to bring the Eagles Nest to fruition.  We asked you to participate in our "Pray", "Share" and "Ask" Eagles Nest fundraiser.  As this is by far the largest fundraiser our school has undertaken it will require a lot of community support.  However, as we believe this is in keeping with God's plans for this school, and believe when we move in accordance to God's plans, he will be faithful to provide all that we could ever hope or ask for.  

The leadership at CCS firmly believes this is a community event not unlike what Nehemiah experienced, as he, being led by God to rebuild the city walls in Jerusalem, understood that, within Nehemiah's own resources and strengths he would not be able to rebuild the walls, however he also understood if the inhabitants in Jerusalem (God's people) would each do their part, then the walls would go up.  In the book of Nehemiah the efforts of God's people are recorded to show exactly what each inhabitant's part was during the rebuilding of the city walls, as these city families shared in the rebuilding efforts by providing both physical help and the materials needed to rebuild the walls, while operating as one body, who all trusted and believed it was possible, and who were willing, as this same body to take on the challenge, they we able to rebuild the city walls in an astonishingly 52 days!

To be candid, to date the total dollar amount collected for a proposed budget of $4,000,000.00 thus far falls short of where we hoped to be by this time.  However, even though this is a disappointment we believe that God has a plan and purpose for us.  Since the beginning of this school year we have been consistently collecting funds which are designated to the Eagles Nest fundraiser. What we have been most astonished by, and proud of, is our CCS students who have not only come up with some outstanding ideas on how we can raise money for the Eagle's Nest, but are showing themselves to be fully committed to seeing this vision fulfilled.  We are thankful for what God has instilled in them and we pray what they have caught is infectious.  The CCS children to date have been our most faithful givers, and are truly showing themselves to be an essential part of the CCS community of believers who know we too, like Nehemiah, can make these walls go up!

For those who may feel this project is too big for us, though with God nothing is impossible, we would like to put the Eagles Nest fundraiser into a different perspective. If you doubt God's ability to provide for what appears to be an enormous hill for our tiny school to climb, consider that with a budget of $4M we would be able to reach this amount if only 4,000 donors were each willing to provide only $1,000.00 each.  We sincerely believe a school with over 25 years of discipling children in God's word, should have sufficient resources of family and friends to make this happen not only for the present generation of CCS children, but for future generations of Christian families who like us, are committed to partnering with CCS to provide a Christian education for their children. Let's all work together to make this happen.

Please prayerfully consider what your part, like with Nehemiah and the city inhabitants, in our community project should be.  If you have not done so already, please consider a generous donation, with eternal implications, to the Eagles Nest fund.  Also, please share our need with your family and friends, and boldly ask them to give too in order for us to quickly begin building our city walls!
