I grew up in Tallahassee, GO SEMINOLES! After high school, I attended Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, Iowa, where I majored in Biblical Studies and minored in Education. This is my ninth year teaching. During that time, I have taught History, Bible, PE, English, Art, Yearbook and Multimedia classes. I have been at CCS since 2007 and I teach all of the 8th-12th grade English classes, New Testament, Yearbook and Multimedia.
I came to know Christ during the summer between seventh and eighth grade at a Bible camp in Georgia. I had a rough time while attending a large public high school, but got my act together when I went to Bible College. I have been in ministry for 16 years. I ran Young Life groups for 15 years and helped out with various other youth programs. I have been privileged to have many meaningful experiences in ministry.
I consider teaching a ministry and enjoy encouraging teenagers in their walk with Christ, as well as teaching them English. I love coaching volleyball and mentoring the girls on my team. I’m really looking forward to going on the Haiti Mission Trip with the students from CCS, to hand out Christmas bags and spread the gospel of Christ in a country that is so deprived. Teaching in a Christian school gives me an opportunity to talk about Jesus and to be involved in the lives of my students, an opportunity that I could never have at a public school. I thank God for letting me be involved in this school.
My favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11-13 “’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.’”
