Laura Kucharyson

Laura KucharysonI was born into a family of 4 girls. My father was career military and my mom, a music teacher. I was born in Missouri, but only lived there until I was 2 years old. My family lived in Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, Colorado, Okinawa and South Korea. Life was always an adventure. My oldest sister is 13 months my senior, my other sister was 22 months younger than me and the baby came only 18 months after. We were the best of friends and pretty good at fighting, as siblings do. Just image 4 teenage girls living in a house at the same time-and my parents are still alive to talk about it. That is when you know there is a God!

I went to Colorado State University and received my degree in music and met my sweet husband Micheal. We are celebrating our Silver Wedding anniversary June 1st 2010. We have 3 wonderful sons: Josh is 23 and married to a beautiful young lady named Sydney, Jon is 21 and attending Florida Institute of Technology and Stephen is 19 and attending University of Central Florida. Micheal is an IT professional. I have been teaching music since 1990. I began teaching part time at a Christian preschool and worked my way through the elementary and secondary ages. I came to CCS in 2006 and enjoy teaching music, Bible and guitar classes and the worship team.

The Lord has blessed my life. I do not remember a time when I wasn’t aware of the Lord Jesus and His presence, even though I do have times when I strayed away from Him. At age 21, I rededicated my life to Jesus and had the honor of being water baptized. My life has been a journey of learning what it truly means to live for Christ. Through the struggles and joys, the Lord has been right by my side.

I see every year as a challenge and realize that I never know what it will look like. CCS has blessed my life with friendships and people to love. I pray every morning that I can be a blessing to those around me. Sometimes I fail and the Lord picks me up. And in those times when I have done well, it is only because of my Jesus. I look forward to all that is yet to come.

My lifetime verse is Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the Name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” The ironic thing is that I can’t even live that verse without the power of the Holy Spirit…what an amazing thought!
