I was born in Ohio and lived in Florida and Michigan, but mainly grew up in Atlanta, GA.  I went to high school and college in Atlanta, and graduated from Oglethorpe University with a B.A. in English and Secondary Education.  I lived in Albuquerque, NM for 16 years, and have lived here in Florida for 11 years total.

I became a Christian at the age of 12 at a Billy Graham Crusade in Atlanta, Georgia.  I will never forget hearing Billy Graham preach, and knowing that I wanted to walk down all those steps onto the field with the thousands of other people who were walking down, and accept Jesus as my personal Savior.  I feel like I’ve been on an amazing spiritual journey since then, learning more and more about Him every year that goes by!

I have been teaching for 20 years, and have taught at public and private schools. I started at CCS in 2005, and I’ve been teaching mainly Jr. High, and have taught every single subject at some point!  The last two years I’ve been able to teach just English, Geography, and Bible to 6th and 7th grade.  I also teach a high school elective called Life Management that is a lot of fun and very “hands on”.  I’ve been in charge of the Scholastic Book Fair every year for the last 4 years because I love books and I love getting kids excited about reading!  I became the school sponsor for National Honor Society last year.

My favorite scripture verse is Proverbs 3:5  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
