I am from Miami, Florida. I grew up in the Dominican Republic and moved to Florida at the age of 11. I attended the University of Florida in Gainesville from 1997-2002 and graduated with a degree in Sociology and Women’s Studies. After graduation I taught a life-management skills course called SpiritedGirls! at Pace Center for Girls, an alternative school for at-risk teenage girls. I taught there for 4 years and then moved to Orlando with my husband after a change in jobs for him.
I have been teaching here at CCS since 2006 and I can honestly say that it is a privilege to serve the Lord in such a Spirit-filled place. I not only get to teach God’s Word to my 5th graders and integrate God’s Word in all the subject areas, but I also get to minister through the gift of dance as a form of worship. I teach dance as an elective for the upper secondary students and serve as choreographer for our Christmas and Spring programs as needed.
I can testify that only by His grace am I able to use the gifts and talents He has given me to reach my students here at CCS and I am so humbled and grateful. One of my favorite Scriptures and ultimately my daily request of the Lord comes from Psalm 19:14: “May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”
