Second Grade

I was born in Ft. Meade, Maryland.  My father was in the Army, and my family had the opportunity to live in many places both abroad and in the United States. He retired in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and I lived there until I went to Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, North Carolina. Early in my life, I became aware of a passion I had to work with children. I decided to become a teacher and have worked in numerous educational settings in North Carolina, Montana, Germany, Italy and England. In 2000, God moved me along with my wonderful husband and two sons to Melbourne, Florida. I taught in the Brevard County School system for twelve years, but always had a desire to teach at a Christian school. I was blessed to be offered a 2nd grade position at Community Christian School in 2014, and I thank God every day for this wonderful school. I was raised Catholic, but in 2000 I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. My family and I enjoy serving at our local church and are excited about what the future holds for us. I have many favorite Bible verses, but Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” has sustained me during many seasons of my life.  It is a scripture I continue to turn to often.
