High-quality Christian curriculum with a loving atmosphere, which nurtures each child in body, mind and spirit

Beverly Pilkington

I was blessed to be raised in a Christian home.  My parents told me about Jesus and taught me Bible stories when I was a very young child, and I accepted Jesus as Savior at age 5.  While I have had the normal ups and downs we all experience in life, that early training and seeing the Christian life modeled at home has kept me focused on the goal of becoming more like Jesus with every year of life.

My family attended a large church with an active youth choir, and it was there I fell in love with music.  I have sung, played hand bells, and accompanied on piano for choir tours to 22 states, Canada, Jamaica, Israel, and Switzerland.  I graduated from Cocoa High and attended two years at BCC, then received my BA in music education from Mars Hill College in North Carolina.  I took classes for a year at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary before getting married.

I have spent 20 years in education, in both public and Christian schools.  I have one daughter, now out of the nest, whom I home-schooled through 4 grades.  I am currently the sole caregiver for my elderly parents, blessed to be giving back the love they gave me when I was young.

I joined the Community Christian family in 2012, and I absolutely love the students, faculty, and staff.  The Spirit of God is present in this school in a way I’ve never experienced in any other school.  My favorite part is getting to freely talk and sing about God.  The love of God is expressed here daily, sometimes through prayer in staff devotions, other times as one student encourages another through a problem, still other times as students work together toward a group goal.  It’s good to be part of the CCS family.
