High-quality Christian curriculum with a loving atmosphere, which nurtures each child in body, mind and spirit
Our elementary program is designed to provide our students with a firm academic and spiritual foundation upon which their upper school experience can build. Students benefit from a fully biblically integrated educational experience as they progress through the elementary grades. Classes include instruction in Bible, phonics-based reading and spelling, language arts (creative writing and grammar), science, social studies and math.
Our elementary curriculum utilizes materials from a variety of publishers including, but not limited to, ABeka, Purposeful Design (a publishing arm of the Association of Christian Schools International), Positive Action, and Great Source-Houghton Mifflin. Instruction is given with a Christian worldview perspective, instilling in even our youngest students that God is at the heart of everything, and our efforts and knowledge are to be put to use in the fulfillment of His plan and purpose for our lives.
In keeping with our mission to Disciple our students in the Word of God, to help them Develop their God-given gifts and talents, and to Discover God’s purpose for their lives, our elementary students enjoy enrichment classes in music, art, and physical education. Field trips and special activities are also planned to support the educational process. Weekly visits to the school library encourage the students to read for pleasure, and allow them the opportunity to develop important skills to support future educational efforts like research reports.
Elementary students are involved in weekly special activity classes including music, art, and physical education. All students are involved in daily Bible study and participate in weekly Chapel.
Students in 1st through 10th grades are administered standardized achievement tests (Stanford Achievement and Otis Lennon, or Terra Nova) on an annual basis to provide student achievement data and provide critical data necessary for evaluating our educational program. Secondary students are given the PSAT (Practice SAT test for college entry) and are guided in the process of completing the College Board SAT (for college entry) and/or the ACT (for college entry).
Our teachers are dedicated, Christ-focused professionals who provide a nurturing environment to help their students know the Lord and grow in His goodness.
