High-quality Christian curriculum with a loving atmosphere, which nurtures each child in body, mind and spirit

Ron Wilcox

After spending most of my young life as a military brat living overseas and moving from place to place every 3 years, I finally attended and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL. This proved to be very beneficial later when I embarked on a manufacturing management career for about 24 years. However, that came to an end after receiving my commission and a tour of duty in the US Army during the Viet Nam era. I resigned my active duty commission reverting to currently Reserve Indefinite status the day before the Gulf War and pursued a manufacturing management career in the automotive industry. After about 24 years as I noted earlier, I started my own Manufacturing consulting business focusing on improving the efficiency of manufacturing processes.  By now I had attended the Executive Management School of Notre Dame, Six Sigma and the Kaizen Institute of Technology to learn the principles of Japanese manufacturing and Inventory Control.  So I was up for task of completing a 1-year contract as the National Safety Director for Johnson and Johnson requiring the rewriting of all of their federally regulated standard operating procedures governing blood drawing chemical vials and blood drawing mechanics.  I moved to Palm Bay, FL in 2006, and started teaching for the Brevard County Public School system.  I taught with Brevard Schools for 10 years and was asked in 2016 by my pastor if I would I be interested in teaching at CCS and here I am.

My pastor’s request to be a part of his dream was only one of many blessings I’ve received in my short Christian life and as a member of my home church Discover Life. After leaving Johnson & Johnson, my wife and I returned to the Palm Bay area and became members of a ministry called Love and Hope.  Even at my age of 55 (at the time), I was still at a loss as to the difference between a true Christian and a person of Religion.  However, GOD has a way of redirecting you to serve his purpose.  Within the 5 years that I served as a “deacon” at Love & Hope, GOD showed me that what I was participating in was not exactly where He wanted me to be.  That season, as they say, had ended and GOD said, “It’s time to go.”

Carrie (my wife) and I shopped around for a new church home and in October of 2010, we attended Discover Life Church for the first time.  We have only missed about three or four Sunday experiences since then and I now am a full-time trusted member of an outstanding worship team.  I am where I am loved and appreciated unlike previous experiences.  I am also blessed to be a participant in my GOD’s blessing to my pastor of a Christian school where I can have a positive effect on the young lives GOD gives me to teach and enlighten.

My blessings come daily as I work through each day with people who think and feel as I do.  It is becoming obvious to me each day that working and living in heaven, even in its definite greatness, must be very similar to where I am now, because I have never been as happy as I am today.  PRAISE GOD, THANK YOU FATHER.

I leave you with one of my favorite scripture verses – Ephesians 1:3 “Praise be to GOD and Father of our Lord Jesus , who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.  For he chose us in him before creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.”
